It’s time to see if you’re ready to apply
We know job hunting is exhausting. Let’s set you up to succeed
Before you apply, it’s important that you know who we are, how we function, and whether you’re applying for the right role for you.
At L’Oréal, we hire for potential, not just experience. Whether you’re a graduate or an expert, you don’t need to tick every box from day one. What matters is how you think, adapt and learn.
To help you demonstrate this, we’ve created a clear guide to help you assess whether a role is right for you, tailor your CV and show your ability to create impact.
What you should know about how we work
-

Every day brings something new
Things move fast here, and no two days are the same. Before you apply, take the time to explore our culture on socials or AI, check out our projects and get a feel for how we work to see if it’s the right fit for you.
-

We work best together
We don’t do fully remote because we thrive on face-to-face exchanges, so plan to be in the office at least 3 days a week, with up to 2 days remote depending on your role.
-

Careers at L’Oréal never stand still
You won’t stay in the same role for years. We expect you to move across teams, build new skills and take on different challenges as you grow.
-

Our projects evolve constantly
Priorities shift very quickly here. Navigating ambiguity and pivoting to manage project changes are realities at L’Oréal. Work here evolves regularly, keeping things engaging and challenging.
-

Potential matters more than perfection
You don’t need to meet every requirement on the job description. We know some of you are looking for your first job. If you have the core skills and the agility to learn, we’d like to hear from you.
-

We'll keep you informed
Our recruitment process typically takes around one month for junior roles from CV to final interview, though timelines may vary depending on the position.
How to apply
for a role at L’Oréal
This website is the official place to start your L’Oréal journey. You can apply for up to three roles every 30 days, so make each application count. Here are our tips to help you optimise your CV:
- Keep it to one page. A concise, error-free CV shows us how you structure your thinking and prioritise information.
- English is our main working language, so submit your profile in English unless the job description specifically asks for something else.
- Show results, not just tasks. Don’t just give us a generic list of responsibilities. Tell us what actually changed because of your work. Use numbers, scope and timelines to prove your outcomes.
- Using AI is fine, inventing is not. You can use AI to structure your CV or refine your wording, but your experience and results must be entirely your own. If invited to interview, we’ll ask you to go deeper into the examples you’ve shared.
Is it the job
for me?
You are the only person who can truly decide if a specific role aligns with your ambitions. Before you submit your profile, ask yourself what you actually want to learn next and what kinds of challenges motivate you. Take a close look at the job description and map your strengths against the core technical and soft skills required for the position. We want you to feel completely confident that this role makes sense as the right next step in your professional journey.
Got questions? We have the answers
-
An ATS, or applicant tracking system, is a tool companies commonly use to streamline hiring. It helps teams post job openings, spot the most relevant candidates by screening their CVs, and send automated emails throughout the recruitment journey to keep everyone informed and things moving quickly. In other words, the clearer and more relevant your CV, the easier it is for recruiters to assess your profile.
-
Think of your CV as translating your experience into a language that machines understand. Use the right keywords, keep it clear and simple, and stick to Word documents or PDFs with regular fonts, avoiding heavy layouts, photos or graphics. To double-check, try the plain-text test: paste your CV into Notepad or TextEdit. If it’s still easy to read, you’re good to go. If relevant to the role, you can also include a portfolio to showcase your creative work and personal approach.
-
This depends entirely on the country, the local regulations and the seniority of the role. If visa sponsorship or relocation support is available, it is usually stated in the job description. If you require a work visa, please make this clear in your application profile so we can manage the process transparently from the start.
-
Not being selected for one role doesn’t close the door at L’Oréal. Many candidates apply more than once, and the strongest applications often come after gaining new experience or finding a role that’s an even better fit. Take the time to refine your profile, and when the right opportunity comes along, you’ll be in a great position to apply again.
Our three golden rules to protect you against phishing and recruitment scams
- Emails from L’Oréal always come from an @loreal.com or loreal-groupe.com address. Be cautious of messages from Gmail, Yahoo or similar domains.
- If you’re unsure, check your application status directly on careers.loreal.com.
- Keep your data safe. L’Oréal will never ask for sensitive personal information during the recruitment process. If a message seems suspicious, don’t respond or click any links.
AI Charter: our pact
Why a pact? At L’Oréal, innovation has been in our DNA for over 115 years. As we invent the future of beauty, we see Artificial Intelligence as a powerful co-pilot, with the firm belief that technology must always serve people. This pact is our commitment to you: we want to be transparent about how we use AI during the recruitment journey, and we invite you to use it in a way that showcases your unique talents. Above all, we believe in a journey that is ethical, transparent, and human.
Using AI in your application: How to strike the right balance? We want to meet the real you, not the best version of a machine. Let’s agree on how to use AI to make our journey together authentic.
What we encourage (your part of the act):
- Sharpen your tools: use AI to help structure your thoughts, polish your CV (correcting mistakes or checking compatibility with hiring tools like ATS - Application Tracking Systems), or translate documents.
- Level up your prep: use AI to research our brands so you can arrive at the interview with your own sharp, strategic perspective.
- Show your critical thinking: if you use AI for a business case or technical test (e.g., a coding test), tell us. Show us your 'prompts' and explain your choices. This demonstrates your judgement - a skill we deeply value. (Note: any work created with AI assistance must be labelled as such). Whether you use AI or not, be prepared to explain the substance of the work you submit.
What to avoid (our shared red lines):
- The 'copy-paste' trap: submitting a cover letter or answers written entirely by AI doesn't tell us who you are. We want to hear your personal story and your voice.
- Faking reality: never use AI to invent skills, degrees or experiences you don’t have. Authenticity is non-negotiable. If we detect fabricated information, we will stop the recruitment process immediately.
- AI in the interview room: The interview is a protected, human-to-human moment. Please do not use any real-time AI assistance, 'ghostwriting,' or assistance tools. We want you and our recruiters to be fully present to create a real connection. This is our most important rule to ensure fairness.
How do we use AI? (Our part of the pact)
At L’Oréal, we use AI to automate repetitive tasks, giving our recruiters more time to focus on you.
- Our tools: we use AI to help schedule interviews and ensure our job descriptions are inclusive and bias-free.
- Our promise: a human will always conduct your interviews and make the final hiring decision. A machine will never decide for us.
- Your rights: you have the right to oppose the use of an AI tool at any stage. If you opt-out, it will not affect your application. For some interviews, we may offer AI-powered transcription to capture every detail accurately. Your permission will always be asked beforehand, and you can refuse. These transcripts are deleted after 20 days.
Our commitment to responsible AI
We build and use AI under strict ethical guidelines, regularly testing our systems to prevent bias. Please keep in mind that our recruitment database and AI tools are hosted in the EU and therefore strictly obey EU laws (GDPR). If you have specific accessibility needs, please tell your recruiter so we can support you.
A final word: please be yourself. That’s who we really want to meet.
At L’Oréal, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion isn’t a trend. It’s been in our culture for over 20 years.
We’re looking for your unique personality, not just a CV. We value what makes you you. Why? Because we’re convinced that true inclusion is the spark for innovation and ambition. Proud to be an equal opportunity employer, we guarantee a recruitment process free from discrimination. Total respect for your journey (gender, orientation, disabilities, background, age or religion): we see your talent first!
